I'm in love with the fun fall hairstyles I'm seeing everywhere right now. Many of my favorite looks seem to be a lovely, subtle evolution from what we've seen over the past few seasons. Here are a few that stand out.
Half Updos
Whether straight and sleek or lush and wavy, half updos are perfect for all occasions. Pulling hair away from the face is a sure fire way to brighten your look (that is, unless you haven't slept for several nights) — and is truly suitable for all hair types. Use bobby pins, hair elastic or a favorite barrette to pull the front of hair your back, and you've got a lovely look in mere seconds. Gorgeous!

Braids
Newsflash, braids aren't going anywhere. Loose braids, tight braids, French braids, fishtail braids — the list goes on and on, but a few looks that seem to prevail this fall are looser, undone braids, as well as double braiding. Why just one braid when you can have two? Granted, you're teetering on Pippi Longstocking pigtail territory, but you can keep it anti-fifth grade by keeping the braids loose and texturized.

Silk Accessories
Bands of silk woven into the hair are truly hot this season. If you're not into the silky woven Heidi braids, why not use a beautiful silk scarf to secure your half updo this fall? (See how I'm pulling it all together now?) Woven into braids, used as a headband or ponytail holder, a brightly colored silk scarf will keep your hair in haute couture.

Deep Side Parts with Waves
For me, a center part combined with loose waves just screams summertime. For a more sophisticated look for autumn, keep the waves, but create a deep side part. It instantly creates the appearance of a swooped bang, and will showcase richly hued, shiny tresses perfectly.

Top Knot
Still daydream of being a ballerina? Well, at least you can play the part with a high bun. So Parisian-chic, this style is a cinch to wear, and will perfectly play into fall's newest fashions. Just be sure to keep it fresh and unstructured — spending too much time trying to perfect the bun will only result in adding 20 years to your age instantly. (Quelle horreur!)
